I started by using the 16v 10va transformer that came with the chime. I didn t see any reports of this occurring after one year let alone two. That worked successfully for a couple of weeks. I ran brand new doorbell wire to support this installation. I replaced the doorbell chime with a heath zenith 2735 from the approved list same issue. Place the ring doorbell 2 next to your door at about 48 inches from the ground.
