Atlas has remained the sole provider of polyiso roof insulation without a membrane system. The insulation underneath the membrane insulates the building while the membrane is the layer to keep water and other weather out. Fully adhered membranes can also be installed directly to concrete or wood substrates. Ybs insulation manufacture specially designed roofing membranes which allow the roof to breath and help protect against the ingress of wind rain and snow.

Generally the insulation or roofing board is mechanically fastened to the structure and then the roof membrane is adhered to create a full assembly that resists uplift. Pir is a thermal insulation board produced in a chemical process from rigid polyurethane pu foam combined with an isocyanurate catalyst. Roofing membranes can be made out of a variety of materials. It is one of the most suitable insulation types for adhered roof systems and can also be used in ballasted roof applications.
