Ryobi Garage Door App Always Says Closed

Between the gdo and my vivint alarm they are the last 2 pieces to a completely automated home via homekit smartthings homebridge and the raspberry pi.

It still opens but since the app status always says closed when i open with the app and try to close the close button is disabled because the app status is locked on close.
